Another decision to make when planning a home theater is whether to personally install the equipment or hire professionals to handle the project. If you're a tech-savvy DIY type, there's no reason why you can't do things on your own. Along with saving loads of money, you'll gain intimate knowledge of the gear -- a big plus when troubleshooting any future problems.
